Drew Button was educated at Virginia Tech's College of Architecture and Urban Studies. To deepen his understanding of the built environment, he spent a year building small residential projects after completing his studies. Drew trained and worked at Gantt Huberman Architects in Charlotte. He enjoys the challenge of fine residential work, its diverse palette and the investigation of design on an intimate scale.
"One of the things that informs me as an architect is my experience growing up in many different places. I was especially intrigued by the urban world of Tokyo. Exploring the districts by train, the city's culture and energy captured my imagination. In contrast, I experienced a new kind of grounding during my architectural studies in rural Blacksburg, Virginia. Settled into a community now, I enjoy Charlotte's smaller urban scale and neighborhoods. At any scale, I am interested in the marriage of architecture and craftsmanship."
